Options to store Project Pro 2002 Project on LAN, Oracle or Access

Are there any recommendations that help us decide how to store
multiple project plans for sharing by multiple project managers. As a
stop gap we're considering storing individual project plans on a
share, Oracle, or Access until we have Project Server up and running.
How many projects can be effectively managed/stored on a share using
consolidated projects, or centrally saved in Oracle or Access.

In theory, there are no reachable limits to this, however there might be
manageable limits which are determined by your orgainzational Project tool
discipline and knowledge. Unitl 2000 and Project Central this was the only
option you had for managing programs and groups of projects with Microsoft
Project. Some might argue, as well, that Project Central wasn't a very
strong alternative, but the start of one.
