Org Chart Question

Hi! Im trying to make an Org Chart that goes down 15 rows below me for 16
rows total including me as the single box in row 1. Each row should have 2
to the x power minus 1 boxes where x is the row number. In other words,
first row has 1, second row has 3, third row has 7, fourth row has 15, and
5th row has 31, etc... Each box should have 3 boxes it below it in the next
row connected to it. This requires some sharing after the 2nd row. For
instance row 1's single box connects to boxes 1, 2 and 3 below it in row 2
but box 1 in row 2 connects to box 1, 2 and 3 in row 3 and box 2 in row 2
connects to box 3, 4 and 5 in row 3 and box 3 in row 2 connects to box 5, 6
and 7 in row 3. I'm looking for a way to create this org chart without
having to draw it out by hand as row 16 has thousands of boxes in it. I'm
pretty new to Visio but I'm very computer savvy. Can I get pointed in the
right direction to get started with this?

Looks like a problem for crosswords enthousiasts :)
Google for visio solutions. You'll find some VBA.
Have you looked at the Visio limits ?

I don't think this will stretch the Visio limits, but a thousand boxes on
the last row. That will end up being a drawing that is one foot high by
about 30 yds wide.
