OS version 10.2

In a previous post, I was told that Office 98 for MAC will not work on OS
10.2 and was directed toward getting Office 2004. In the system requirements
for 2004, it says that it is for users who have 10.2.8 or later. Is OS 10.2
upgradable to 10.2.8 or do I need to go with Office X or 2001 for OS 10.2?

To my knowledge, Office 98 will run in the Classic environment (which
essentially emulates OS 9) on any version of OS X. Later versions -- X
and 2004 -- run natively in OS X.

Any version of OS 10.2 can be updated to 10.2.8 using the Combo updater:
ml>. (G5 systems require their own special 10.2.8 updater.)
