ose00000.exe file

Howard Kaikow

I installed Office 2003 on 24 Oct, but today I realized that I had done a
Custom, not a complete, install.
So, I uninstalled Office 2003 and re-installed with Complete install.

This time, an ose00000.exe file, the Office source Engine, was left in
J:\Documents and Settings\Howard Kaikow\Local Settings\Temp.
I am assuming that the file may be deleted?
Is that so?

OSE.exe is in J:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine,
and seems to be the same file.

Hi Howard,

Files in your temp folder can be deleted.

Not always.

I've got 1 app, software that came with my scanner, that goes belly up if I
delete a particular TWAIN temp file.
Of course, I now have a more recent version of that software, so I might see
if the software still has that design flaw.

I was astonished yesterday when I somehow inadvertently deleted ALL the
files in the Temp directory.
That broke Acrobat 5.05.
I had to uninstall, then re-install Acrobat.
