I'm pretty sure it was on this group:
Not too long ago I responded to a posting that wanted to easily
be able to copy folder and filenames as text and I gave a program
recommendation, Desktop V5 as a 3rd party possibility.
Then I took a hit because no one could find it. And
rightfully so, because neither could I find it again. Well, I
just came across it again while looking for some graphics
comparison software, and it does indeed still exist; they just
made it hard to find.
Anyway,
http://www.v-com.com/product/PowerDesk_Free_Trial.html
and my apologies. It's a fully functional subset of their
version 6 and has no expiration.
As an aside:
Is there any chance anyone might know of a program, hopefully a
freebie, that will compare graphic images and report similarities
in any way (eg , %, whatever). I don't mean comparing filenames
and file size: I mean actually looking at two graphics and
determining whether the two might be the same, regardless of the
name. Obviously the file extensions would have to be the same,
of course.
Stated differently, I'm looking for for a program that will
search a hard drive/s looking for duplicates based on the image
data contained in the file.
I might be on a wild goose chase, but I'm still looking,
mostly using Google.com.
