Hi all,

within a powerpoint presentation I would like to work with a
CommandButton, which executes some Actions / Hyperlinks.
However this button cannot be programmed ("actions ..." in its context
menu is grey).

When I try to find some help to Actions within powerpoint's help file, I
get the message, that
- either my browser has too high security
- or OUACTRL.OCX is not there or badly installed

I reduced security of my Internet Explorer (until the system told me my
computer is at high security risk!).
Then I searched for this control and found it in programs/Microsoft
Office/Office.

I use Office 2000 and Internet Explorer 7.x. My system is Windows XP.

Can anybody help?

Note: as my system is German, I tried to translate messages, menu items.
Some translations might be a bit "funny".

Best Regards,

You can't assign actions or hyperlinks to command buttons.

Instead, use AutoShapes on the Draw menu and add an Action Button.

Hi Steve,

Thanks!!!! It worked. I added the "unspecialized" Action Button and
could assign actions and hyperlinks plus format it the way I wanted it!

Excellent ... and by the way, Action settings on buttons and other shapes will
work in the free viewer as long as they don't call VBA code; command buttons
won't.
