I am running Office XP and use Oulook 2002 (SP3) with an Exchange server. I
am a remote user and was initially setup to have new messags delivered to my
local PST file. After people in the office complained about not being able
to see my calendar, I changed the delivery of new messages to the standard
server based mailbox with offline folders. Additionaly I have a server
based rule to rediret all internal email to my PDA. Now everytime I launch
Outlook I recieve the following message:
"You are creating a rule that will be incompatible with versions of Outlook
earlier than Outlook 2000. If you create this rule, you cannot use your
rules with Outlook 98 and earlier versions. For more information, search for
help on "Upgrading Rules". Are you sure you want to create this rule?"
I select yes and it goes away until, 1) I close Outlook and reopen it, or 2)
until I go into the Rules Wizard.
Then when I try to exit the Rules Wizard I get an error message that states
"Operation Failed", however, and changes deletions or additons to the rules
do get applied.
When I unistalled office and reinstalled it the "You are creating a rule..."
error message went away, but I can no longer launch the Rules wizard. When
I apply SP3 I'm back to my original problem. I have done Google searches
and scoured the Microsoft website, but have not been able to find anything.
Any ideas????
