Out of Memory Message

When I tried to open my database today I was unable to. I got that 'Not
enough memory...' memory message.
I have never encountered this before except a couple of times when I was
designing form(s).
I was unable to open any of my dbs. I have 3 gb of physical ram.
I needed to reboot and only after the reboot was I able to open my db.
As far as I can tell I had no problem opening other programs on my system.
I, of course, didn't try them all.

Any idea what might have caused this??

James,

How big is your database and when was the last time you ran Compact &
Repair?

Frontend database is 1.84 gb and the backend is 1.21 mb - that's megabytes.
I Compact & Repair 3-4 times a week. If I'm making changes to the db I'll
Compact & Repair several times doing the design session.
Again, I this error hasn't occurred since the day of my original post.

James,

The FE appears to hitting up against the 2gig limit, which will cause error
messages to pop up. Why is the FE so big? Do you have temp tables? Are
you running a lot of update/append/delete/ make table queries in the front
end?

No temp tables or any queries except for 1 query I run, maybe, once every 2
weeks.
I do have 28 forms, 7 macros, 11 reports, and 3 modules.

I have databases with a lot more then that in the front end and they are no
where near that size. I would try to import your objects into a new
database and see what size it grows to. (Why? Because sometimes does a
poor job of reclaiming space when designing forms and then deleting them.)

I know you said your database is split but are you storing any tables in the
front end?

I'm sorry.
I either read the size wrong or I typed it wrong.
My FE is 1.84 MB.
And no, I don't store any tables in the FE all are linked.

James,

In the famous words of Gilda Radner... **NEVERMIND** Okay well, then since
the error has not appeared again I have no explanation as to why it appeared
in the first place. I still might import everything into a new front end
just in case it is an early corruption issue.
