Out Of Memory

I have an "Out Of Memory" problem. I have read several of the posted questions & replies, but must admit, alot of it is "greek" to me. So here my situation, hopefully someone out there can help me! My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. I have a 80Gig hard drive and 512k Ram memory. I have to date developed about 8 websites using FrontPage 2000 and there has been NO problems til now. I now find that the "Memory" problem occurs in both updating (adding anything new) toexisting webs and any new webs I try to do. If I try to add a new Pic to an existing web, I get an "Out Of Memory" message and if I try to set up a "New" web, as soon as I get a short way into it and go to ad a PIC, same message

Any ideas how I can correct this problem? This kind of puts me in a bad spot because I can not do anything to update any of my webs for anyone

Have you tried the usual things.
With a Web open click Tools >
Web Settings > Advanced and then
click Delete files under "Temporary files."
The shut down FrontPage and do a search for
*.web and delete all found
Then do the same for *.tmp

The Right click the IE icon, select Properties
and delete the Temporary Internet, Cookies and History files.

Reopen FrontPage and a web and see how it does.

Start Menu | Find
Find and delete the cmdui.prf file for FrontPage - this is the file that
stores your customizations and preferences for the FrontPage Menu and it
will get rebuilt, using the defaults, the next time you start FrontPage.

OK.
Exactly where are the images you are trying to insert??
In a folder in the web, or one outside of the web.

Steve; I tried a couple more things, so here is exactly whats going on. I am trying to insert a picture from a folder in My Documents. Which I am unable to do at this point. I can insert TYPE or CLIPART - No Problem. It just seems to not like it when I try to insert a picture! This problem is effecting ALL my webs. The only thing I have not tried is to DELETE the new web that I started today, and now have this problem. I just can'y figure out why it will do everything, except a picture! It just shuts down the program.

See if it will allow you to copy in windows explorer and then paste the
picture into
the web using folder view and then insert it into the page.

I find that the "Replies" do not always work. I have send three that have not shown up! Any, Itried what you suggested and it worked. I went into Windows Explorer and copied the pic I wanted. I then opened F/P and then the Folder View. I then went to the Image Folder and paste the pic there, no problem. Then in the Page View, Idid the same thing, paste it on the page where I wanted it, and that worked. I saved it, closed the web and re-opened it, and BINGO we had lift off! Do you have any idea why this would work and not the proper way off inserting a pic

To be perfectly honest, No.
I have always copied and pasted or
imported images into a web and then linked to them.

cmdui.prf is a known hidden system file
usually in
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file hidden file CMDUI.PRF
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State
4) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
5) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
6) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
7) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

| To be perfectly honest, No.
