Out of Office assistant does not work with external e-mail

Hi Everbody,

I have a question. We use Exchange Server 5.5 with SP3 on
a NT Server with Sp6a.

The problem we are having is that for some users "the out
of office assitant" does not work when people from
outside the company send e-mail. Within the company it
works without any problems! This causes problems cause
customers are not are people are on holliday etc.

I already checked the delivery options, but none of the
users use an alternate recipient!

What can be the problem? And what can i check to see if
something is not configured correctly?

Thanks

Kind Regards

Ivo

Out of Office replies are disabled by default on Exchange (during this last
blitz of Swen, aren't you glad???)

Talk to the admin about turning it on - it is off for a good reason, the
best one being prevention of a mail loop that will take down your Exchange
server. Don't laugh, it has happened to colleagues.
