Out of Office Assistant Error Message

G

Greg Mc

When I use the Out of Office Assistant to create my message, I always get the
error message CHANGES TO THE RULE COULD NOT BE SAVED. The only thing I want
is for everyone here at the office to see when I will not be in the office.
What menu changes do I have to make for this to happen?

What version of Outlook and Exchange and what are the rule parameters?

Repeat, what version of Exchange? Out of Office Assistant is an Exchange
option, not Outlook, although the version of the mail client can affect how
it works.

Hello,

We're starting to have the same issue around the office here with those
on Outlook 2003. We recently upgraded exchange to 2003 also. The
error I believe comes back as 'cannot add rule'
Any info would be appreciated.

If you post the exact error message and the steps you are taking to produce
the rule, it will be easier to start the troubleshooting.

The error simply comes back as: 'can not add rule'

All the users are attempting to do is goto tools---> out of office
assistant, and set it to 'I am currently out of the office'

Strange indeed - we've seen it at least 3 times so far this week..

This has also occurred on a machine running Outlook XP (2002) ... same
exact problem...
