Out of office assistant exclude people

I'm trying to find a way to exclude certain people from
my out of office autoreply. Does anyone know how to do
this without creating a rule, since rules will only work
when Outlook is running?

I don't usually use rules at all, but I believe the rules you set in OOO are
server-side rules. Have you tried playing with it?

Well I've looked at the possiblities for rules with the
OOA and there isn't anything in there about excluding the
autoreply for certain people. So I'm not sure what to
do, or if this can even be done.

If the rules in OOO don't make it possible, it likely isn't. What is it
you're trying to accomplish and is it really all that important? If these
are senders on the internet, your Exchange server can be set globally to
deny OOO sending over the Internet - in fact, it's set that way by default.
Many admins don't like it because they may feel it's a security risk
(letting people know the office is empty??) and more frequently because you
will be replying to tons of spammers, verifying your address, and creating
more and more inbound spam problems.

Well, we have another account that our support group has
access to for people to email their support requests to,
and there is an auto-forward rule on it to send us a copy
of the emails sent to that account. Well, when we're out
of the office and have our OOO on, it will reply to that
account and then send the out of office message to
everyone. It's more of an annoying thing than anything.
