Out of Office Assistant no Exchange Server

I was able to use out of office assistant on 2003 but I am not on an exchange
server. This is now unavailable in 2007. Is there a way of getting it back or
can i use a rule to do it?

You can use a rule, but that means that your computer must be on and Outlook
running 24/7. Another option is to see if your Mail provider has webmail
with an "On vacation" function. Many do these days..
