Out of Office Assistant

We are running exchange server 5.5 and have several
traveling tech's. Whenever they set up there out of
office assistant to respond when they are traveling the
auto reply message never goes to any external addresses.
It never gets to anyone outside of our building. Is
there a 3rd party piece of software or something missing
in our settings?

Exchange, by default, won't deliver OOA mesages to outside addresses. There
is a setting (I don't know what it's called - ask in an Exchange newsgroup)
that changes this.
