Out of Office reply on a forwarding rule

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but the person asking is someone I need to
be definitive with so...

If one has a fowarding rule set up to direct a specific address to another
account (a public folder), and one sets up an OOO reply on their account,
will emails sent to that account w/ the OOO reply enabled still trigger the
OOO message before it gets forwarded on?
