Out-of-Office Reply

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how I can create an out-of-office reply
in Outlook 2000 while I am off on vacation. I tried to
create a new Rule, but when I tested it, nothing happened.

Thanks very much,

Reegan

If you have Outlook open, you have to be viewing the
INBOX (or any of the mail folders...not on Journal,
contacts, etc.), the option is at TOOLS ->
OUT-OF-OFFICE ASSISTANT.

I'm not 100% sure if the option appears if Outlook was
set up as an Internet e-mail client as opposed to as an
Exchange server client.

If you don't connect to an Exchange server, there is no automatic out of
office autoreply. You'd have to spoof it with rules, and note that this
means leaving Outlook open, and connected to the internet, for the duration
of your absence.

See http://www.slipstick.com/rules/index.htm for help.
