Out Paper Error on Brother HL2140 printing from Word 2007/vista/ c

I am using windows vista home premmium, 64, word 2007, converter pack for
word, brother HL 2140 laser monocrhome printer with tray 1 and manual feed.

I converted copied a file from word 2003 and installed the converter for
word 2007. I saved the file in word 2007 to be compatible with word 2003 and
2007. I can print letters without fancy formatting originally done in w2003
and saved in w2007 as mentioned above. I can print these in my Brother
printer, HP and all other.

I cannot print the one type of file that has more formatting made in w2003
and saved/converted to w2007/2003 in my brother printer using tray one. It
will trigger the out of paper error led and stop the printing. I can print
it through the manual feed of the 2140 and I can print in the HP/kyocera, etc
without problem.

Brother told me it's a MS word issue that needs to resolve the converter for
word 2007 so it will not erroneously trigger ther converted files from w2003
to w2003 when trying to print on the brother 2140 and 2170. . Can someone
help. Is it me? Is there a setting I cannot see. I have, with brother tech
support reinstalled and tweaked all the possible seetings 2 different times
with them and my equipment and it still will not print. If I save the file
as a pdf and print it it will print on the tray one. Weird! They don't know.

That is Brother's standard reply to all their printer driver problems. I
suggest NEVER purchasing a printer from them.
