Outbox Inaccessible & Empty Sent Folder

P

prosperity

I have Outlook XP and XP Professional.

Whenever I click Outbox in My Shortcuts, this is the message I get: "Unable
to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified
folder location."

However, Outlook does send messages. But the sent messages do not appear in
the Sent folder.

I tested the sending of messages by sending test messages to my Gmail
address. The messages were received in Gmail.

This is a longterm problem, as in from as far back as I can remember since
Office XP installation.

I have tried to repair Office, but this has not solved the cannot access
problem and the Sent box without sent messages problem.

Advice about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

"Shortcut" is the keyword here. Use the Folder List to verify access to your
Outbox. If that works; recreate your shortcut. My advice; stop using the
Outlook Bar and use the Folder List instead.

Roady;

I have just recently installed SP3 for Office 2003, and now I am not able to
empty my "Sent Items" folder at all. The options are all grayed out...Please
help.
