Outgoing Mail Server Detection

I am running Outlook 2000 and wondering if there are
settings so that my Outlook will auto detect the outgoing
mail server for the internet connection that I am using.

Any help on this would be great.

What do you have set on the server tab for your account properties for
authentication?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Jason asked:

No - but as Milly suggests, see whether you can authenticate to your
ISP/mail host's SMTP server & use it from any connection.
