Outgoing por number (465) changes to 0 on its own

I have been using Outlook for years. Now version 2007 (I have found out the
hard way) changes the outgoing port number (in my case 465) to zero.
This is annoying and time consuming

That's not Outlook, that's your antivirus program. Uninstall your AV program
and reinstall it without the mail scanning feature.
