Outgoing SMTP error no matter what we do...

Hello,

The Outlook in question is Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.4527).

We have a client who keeps getting an SMTP outgoing mail error wheneve
they try to send mail.

They can receive mail with the settings, but whenever they try to sen
mail it does not work.

They cut and paste the info for the incoming mail server into th
outgoing mail server, so it has to be right.

I have set up the account on other machines and it works perfectly. S
it is not a matter of user names, passwords, etc. It is something els
in the configuration, but because I cannot see the machine, I am at
loss.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Try running msconfig it sounds like something is blocking it. I would try
it in outlook express and telnet
