Outline Code Description Column?

My project tasks and resources all use a masked Outline Code in the
following form: AAA-99.


On the resource sheet, is it possible to add a column that displays the
description of the resource code in question? I know I can group by my
outline code, but I wish for a seperate field that tells me what the
code actually represents at a glance without having to look it up
somewhere, or without having to group that way.

Any thoughts?

The only way I can think of would be for ou to write some VBA code that
implements your algorithm to translate your Outline Code into words, and
then return that translation to a custom text field for the resource.
Display that text field in the view.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

You can Insert/Column in the Resource Sheet. Look for one of the
customizable fields like Text1 so that you can write in the description of
the code. Filter for a code group and type in the meaning at the top of
Text 1 and fill down.
