Outline Codes - Hierarchical Structure

I've upgraded from MSP 2003 to 2007, but my outline codes, which are
hierarchical (for instance system/subsystems) are not displaying properly.

In 2003, I grouped on levels 1 and 2 of the hierarchy and they would display
the subordinate codes under the main code, with the code Descriptions as the
headings.

In 2007 when I try this the main code heading comes up with "No (code
value)", and the subordinate heading is a little black rectangle.

Grouping under "each value" works better, but again the headings are the
code Values rather than the code Descriptions.

Two questions then:

1) Can the Outline Code Description be displayed, or is it only the Code
Value?

2) Is it possible to get hierarchical codes to work in 2007? I tried
setting up dummy codes to see if it was a conversion problem but the same
issue arose.

I'm trying to avoid having to replace my hierarchy with individual codes

To answer part of your question, the answer is no. The behavior of Outline
codes was changed substantially in 2007 and you can not exactly replicate
the way that they worked before.
I'm not sure what the reasoning behind this was, but just wanted to confirm
your observation.

We are experiencing the same issue of not seeing code descriptions.
Perhaps this will find it's way into a service pack if MS Project eve
pays attention to its users.

The ultimate solution would be to place radial buttons to select one o
both
