Outline numbering

I is possible to insert outline numbering to headings as with MS Word? We
need to have headings that follow a
1.0 Heading
1.1 Sub Heading
1.2 Sub Heading
2.0 Heading
pattern, but I cannot find a way of achieveing this.

If this is not possible within Publisher, is it possible to link a Word file
into Publisher dynamically, so that any changes within Word are then
reflected in the Publisher file, whilst maintaining the outline numbering
styles defined in the original Word document?

We've also been doing it manually up until now, but we are trying to deal
with very large documents, and renaming the headings takes a very long time
if we want to insert new ones half way through. I guess we should switch to
InDesign instead for the purposes of this document. Thanks again.
