Dear all,

Does anyone knows how to change the outline numbering into manual numbering
without affecting the indentation?

This tip is requested by my boss, because the frustation using an outline
numbering on his large documents (about 250 pages).

Thank your for your kind assistance.

Hi Tri

Open the Visual Basic Editor 'Immediate' window (Alt-F11, Ctrl-G) and type

ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText.

(You might want to turn this into a macro and put it on a toolbar or
shortcut, if the boss needs this often <g>)

Hope this helps

Hi Tri

To change all automatic numbering in a document into plain text, do Alt-F11. In the Immediate pane, type the following:
ActiveDocument.ConvertNumbersToText
and press Enter.

Note that when you do this, all the numbering in your document will be converted to text. You won't then be able to use any of
Word's automatic numbering features. Therefore, I *strongly* suggest that you make a copy of your document before you do this, just
in case you change your mind later.

Hope this helps.
