Outline Numbering

AmyC

When doing outline numbering, if level one you set as
ARTICLE I, ARTICLE II, etc., and then for level two, you
tell it to link to Level 1, it will set up as I.1., I.2.,
II.1., II.2., etc. Is there a way to set it up, so even
though Level 1 is based with roman numerals, that Level 2
can look like 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, with all arabic???
Please help!!

First of all, make sure you are setting up your outline-numbered list
correctly by following the steps at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html. If you
check the box for "Legal-style numbering," you'll get the effect you want.

Check 'Legal style numbering' near the bottom of the Customize Outline
Numbered List dialog. If you don't see it initially, click 'More' and
it will appear.
