Recently I have been trying to install office 2003 on an
xp machine. It installs fine but when you open outlook,
it starts to go through it's config changes and hangs up.
We run exchange 5.5 on NT Server. I have installed this
on four other machines and it works fine. This user has
alot of folders in outlook and he also has 2 internet
mail accounts setup as well as his network account. We
have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. We have entered
outlook in safe mode, we have also done this "Close
Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using
Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and
system folders.)
Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open
fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as
the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes
corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars
that you expect." but that didn't work either. Any
suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you
