Outllook 2003 causes SVCHOST to use 100% cpu and never releases it

I have been using outlook 2003 for about 2 weeks.

Now when I open it, it locks up the system
svchost.exe is maxed out at 100% and never releases.

I have scan for virus and removed and reinstalled office
2003.

any suggestions as to what I can try next?
