I am running Outlook 2003 on a Vista SP1 box. Outlook constantly locks up -
not responding. Have to force Outlook to close. Did the same thing before
SP1 installed. Hope someone can answer your question.

I am running Outlook 2007 on a BRAND NEW Vostro 1400 with Core 2 Duo and 2GB.
I have the same problem. Is this an Outlook issue? Vista issue? Office?

I can't believe how horrible the performance is. Outlook.exe uses up all my
cpu cycles, even with small .pst files.

Have you tried creating a new mail profile? Have you run Help>Detect and
Repair?

I've done these things to no avail. Every time I shut down Outlook, scanpst
finds errors (sometimes I have to log off before Outlook will release the
..pst file). Does Microsoft or any service you know of fix pst files? Mine
seemed to have gotten corrupted due to a bad disk sector and no repair tool
seems to fix it, even though the data is still there.

There are commercially available PST repair tools that will perform better
than SCANPST. Google will find them.
