Having been away from Access for 5 years or so I'm really trying to kick out
the rust. I was never a guru but I am now trying something I've never tried
before.
We have a db for recording training session that our employees take on site
(about 1500 employees). We give some trainings, weekly, monthly, bi-monthly,
etc as required by the feds in our program. This app works fine and even
though I didn't write it I can use it fine. I want an app that works beside
this one via linking the employee and attendnace tables to act as a
scheduler. Once a training attendance file is created with each employee
scheduled to attend appended, I want this app to query the attendance logs,
report who did NOT attend and autotmatically schedule the person for the next
session AND notify via email. This would require linking to the Address book
in Outlook (right?) Or can Access view and import the .pst file exported by
Outlook? Lastly, should this be a separte app or just add more stuff to the
current app? We are using Exchange 03 and the Global listing is about 20,000
employees. Thanks for any help.
