Outlook 2000 0x800ccc13 error

3 days ago, my Outlook 2000 program (Windows XP OS)
starting giving me the error message:
- "1 message couldn't be retrieved from the server. This
usually happens when the connection is lost due to server
or network problems. If the problem persists, contact
your administrator"

- A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to send data to
the server. (Account: 'mail.comcast.net', POP3
server: 'mail.comcast.net', Error Number: 0x800ccc13).

I'm running Outlook 2000 on Windows XP, home edition.
I've checked with Comcast and my settings are correct
(should be, I didn't change anything from the way it was
before it quit working). They say it's a problem with
Outlook. It's worked fine for over a year before this and
I've made no changes in the last week. I even did a
system restore to 7 days prior when I know Outlook was
working and that didn't help.

I also read that this error could be caused if IE and
Outlook Express aren't the same version (Outlook required
OE files) so I deleted Outlook express, including the
registry lines, and reinstalled it from the existing IE
program. No help.

Any ideas anyone? It would be very appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

Try deleting and re-adding the TCP/IP stack.
