Outlook 2000 allowed FIRST LAST;FIST LAST Outlook 2003 does not?

In Outlook 2000 I used to be able to enter names first name
then last name separated by semicolons. In Outlook 2003 I
can only enter names last, first;last, first. I don't think
this way. How do I re-enable the old behavior?
