Outlook 2000 and XP

I have a new install of WinXP onto which I have installed
Office 2K. Outlook is intermittently corrupting my email
accounts in such a way that they will not log into the
servers.

I must remove the account and recreate it for it to
work. I have deinstalled Outlook and reinstalled to no
affect.

Ideas? This is a big pain.
