Config: Outlook 2000 (Win98, 98SE, XP) using offline
folders connected to corporate Exchange server over a
broadband VPN connection. Offline folders NOT set to sync
upon exit but are set to periodically sync (every 30
minutes, I think).
If the VPN connection terminates unexpectedly or after a
corporately set timeout, Outlook becomes unresponsive and
will not even exit. Outlook and mapi32 have to be hard
terminated (CTRL-ALT-DEL and end task).
I found an MS Knowledgebase article (223652) describing a
similar issue with a DUN connection.
Are the issues truly similar? Any ideas or suggestions?
