Outlook 2000 failing to operate

Q

quieying

Hi

I had Outlook 2000 open on Friday morning and came back in the afternoon to
find this error message:

Unable to display the selected folder or item. Errors have been detected in
the file C;\Documents and Settings\Doro\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Quite all mail enabled applications, and
the use the Inbox Repair Tool.

I located the Inbox Repaid Tool here C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT

But have no idea where I am meant to locate the PST files for this
application to scan. I have looked extensively and even ran a search for pst
file but came up with none.

Questions:
1. What does this error mean?
2. What do I have to do to fix it and get Outlook up and running again?

Thanks

Be aware that if your outlook.pst size is greater / near to 1.6gb then you
are approaching the size limit and if you are able to repair this data file
you should either immediately use the Archive option or create a new data
file and set that as default.

The PST you must scan is the one mentioned in the error message you quoted.
Just enter that exact path in the prompt SCANPST gives you.
Questions:
1. What does this error mean?

It means exactly what it says: there are errors in the PST and you should use
SCANPST to try to fix them.
2. What do I have to do to fix it and get Outlook up and running again?

Run SCANPST on the PST.
