Outlook 2000 "hangs" on exit.

When exiting Outlook 2000 it tends to "hang", sometimes it locks the system.
(Never had this problem using Outlook Express - switched to Outlook due to
"backup" options adn other "extras".)

Any suggestions as to what steps might be taken to resolve this issue would
be appreciated.

Do you have any add-ins installed or a PDA in the cradle? See these
troubleshooting tips to see if you have anything like this:

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click
either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support
for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Cover Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background
to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing
mail.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, (e-mail address removed) asked:

There are no add-ins installed.
Running Norton SysWrks2003. Disabled the e-mail scan features but no change
in the shutdown process.
Any other suggestions?
