Outlook 2000 & Outlook Express in XP

I cannot open a hyperlink from within email. When I click on the link,
Windows opens up a new window that remains blank (all white) it doesn't go to
the link.

Try sending yourself an email with a hyperlink in it that you know works. After you receive it in whatever it is you receive e-mail with try the link. Same problem? Could be your AV software.
