Hi Vikram,

Is there any particular reason why you have to have everything
in the one PST file?

If not, then simply create a new one and split the items based on
sub-folders in your original PST or some other criteria such as date.

hi alan,

thanks for reply first.
I have a another problem now the PST files does not open.
have tried compressing the same but still does not open.

i have been told that it would be better that i upgrade to
outlook 2003 for a single account only which means that in
the LAN only my account would be on Outlook 2003.
would such a setup run on my LAN network????
can one upgrade only a single user to Outlook 2003 while
the others are on outlook 2000???

also is there any other way i can get my PST file to
open???
also since the file size of the PSt if larget than 2Gb, is
there any other solution for then UPGRADE?

Hi Vikram,

You might need to 'repair' the PST file.

Do a search in the MSKB for the PST repair tool (if you do not already
have it), and try that.

Make sure you try repairing a *copy* of the file - not on your only /
original version else you will have no backup option!

Hi Vikram,

I don't see why not, but I haven't tried it - we are all on Outlook
2000 here.

However, if you can repair and open the PST file, then split it into
two, you won't have to upgrade at all. Doesn't that sound like a
better solution?

Am I missing something? It is not uncommon!

You can successfully solve your problems with the help of third party PST Split software. This tool comes with powerful scanning algorithm by which it solve your PST files over sized problems.
