Outlook 2000 PST Fix Fails

T

We have a usere at work on a WinXP SP2 system that runs MS Office 2000.

The Outlook 2000 Outlook.pst file will NOT open.

ScanPST fails.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

Note, I even have problems copying the file. I was unaware that there was a
filesize limit on PSTs, so that may be the problem. Outlook.pst is just over
2gb.

From what I've read so far, even upgrading to Office 2003 (which we have
mult-user lic for) would NOT fix this problem. True?

True. The size limitation is contained within the PST. Outlook 2003 and 2007
will, however, allow you to create PSTs that don't have the size limit because
they employ a different PST format. You can also be limited by the file
system you use. A FAT32 file system has a 4GB file size limit. An NTFS file
system does not.
