Outlook 2000 slow problem

recently for no apparent reason Outlook 2000 slowed dramatically. It
loads slowly and each message I click on opens very slowly, especially
those that are html. I have gone back to a restore date a month prior
with no success. No other programs are affected. I am running Win XP

How big is your .pst file? Have you tried compacting the file lately if you
have deleted a number of items?

The file is 3.7MB, I don't know how to compact it. Although I did
delete the contents of my deleted folder. I think the problem is
deleted rss files from Newsgator. How do you compact the file?
