This has been a problem from the very first but it has now become
irritating to the point of exasperation. Once I open Outlook it will
stay in memory even after I have closed it and it no longer shows on
the Task Bar. So then it keeps on checking for mail throughout the
day. The only way to stop it is to either do a Ctl-Alt-Delete and
kill outlook.exe from the listed Tasks or to reboot the system. I
like to check my mail from work but if I have forgotten to turn my
system off at home then there's no mail to check from the server
because the "hidden" outlook on my home system has already pulled the
mail off.
I have Outlook 2000 at work on a 2000 system and do NOT have this
problem. However, the person who works next to me on a Win 98 system
with Outlook 2000 has the same problem. Mail is being checked even
though Outlook appears to be closed.
It must be a setting somewhere but I can't find it.
Any ideas.
