Outlook 2000 + VB6

I have been running Outlook 2000 in conjunction with a VB6 program, that
reads
specific messages from the inbox, for awhile with no problems.

I've just installed all the updates and now I get 'A program is trying to
access e-mail
addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this?'

If I say no my program faults.

If I say yes my program reads the e-mails.

Is there anyway that I can disable this feature?
Does anyone know what changes I need to make so that my VB6 programs
works (i.e what has changed)?
