Outlook 2000, Want to stop automatic sending of Read Receipts

Is there a way to stop auto sending of Read receipts to
senders? I want to control if a read message is sent back
to senders. The options/emailoptions/tracking window has
the reply choice grayed out so I can't choose it...

Then I suspect the mail admins have decided you shouldn't have control.
"Speak to your IT staff" is the best advice I have.
