Outlook 2000 won't let me delete messages

I have a computer running Outlook 2000. I have 2 messages in my deleted
files that I am unable to delete, read, etc. Anytime I click on them, I get
the message "outlook has generated errors and will be shut down". PC has
W2K. I have tried the following: Unchecking all add ins, did a detect &
repair, renamed outllib.dll to outllib.old then back to outllib.dll. Any and
all help is appreciated!

Unlike the Microsoft Office 97 version of the tool, Office 2000 does not
place the Inbox Repair tool on a menu. To use the tool, locate one of the
folders by using Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then double-click the
Scanpst.exe file. The Scanpst.exe file is located on the first Office 2000
CD-ROM in the following folders: Drive
name:\Pfiles\Common\System\Mapi\1033\95 -and- Drive
name:\Pfiles\Common\System\Mapi\1033\NT

Tim -

Scanpst.exe worked for 1 of the emails, but not the other. I ran it several
times, both before and after rebooting my computer. After the first time,
each time I ran it, I received a message that their wasn't anything wrong
with the .pst file.

Is there anything else I can do that you know of?

Well...you could export the entire PST...but exlude the "Deleted Items"
folder and then immediately import to a new PST. Logically, that should
work...but, in practice, who knows? It's worth a try.
