No, it is not. Well, unless you configure it in Internet Mail Only mode,
which might work.

Thanks for the information. So, in order to read mail in Exchange 2007, you
need to have a minimum of Outlook 2002? Thanks.

Generally speaking, yes. Although, as I said, if your server is configured
to be a pop server, Outlook 2000 in IMO mode will likely connect to it.

And heck, if you want to be pedantic, which I usually do, you don't even
really need Outlook to read mail in Exchange 2007. OWA doesn't require Outlook,
nor does Over-The-Air sync to a windows mobile device.

So, specifically, I would say that if you want to connect to an Exchange
Server using MAPI, you would need, afaik, Outlook 2002 or greater. You may
want to post to microsoft.public.exchange.clients to be 100% sure.

In fact, if configured in Corporate/Workgroup mode, using a POP account
should also work.

If you are upgrading to exchange 2007, I would go the extra mile and upgrade
the clients to Outlook 2003, it will be a big improvement over 2000 and worth
the effort.

In addition, staying with Outlook 2000 may mean the users will experience UDP
issues where users don't receive new emails until they click on something
else in Outlook.
