I am having a problem getting Outlook 2001 to work properly on OS X
(Not sure which version) It installs properly, but every time I click
on Outlook to connect to the exchange server, I get a message that
says the server is not available. I have tried creating a hosts file,
but that hasn't worked either. Does anybody have a solution. I have
seen some posts about Outlook 2001 and OS X (10.2 or 10.3) but I don't
know if those solutions would help me. thanks.

Hi brent!

The Hosts file is required, but your Classic environment's TCP/IP Control
Panel must be configured to point to the Hosts file.

The gotcha is that you can't open the TCP/IP Control Panel unless you boot
into Mac OS 9.

If you're on a machine that can not boot into Mac OS 9, then message me
privately and I'll send you a TCP/IP Preferences file and Hosts file with
instructions for where to place them. It's the Prefernces file that's
getting changed when you are able to open the TCP/IP Control Panel and make
changes. Therefore, replacing the TCP/IP Preferences file from a known
working machine is just as good.

Hope this helps! bill

Hi Sandhya!

I've been rescanning some of the messages in this group and found yours. Are
you still needing the files?

If so, please email me privately and I'll get them to you.

Thanx! bill

At what address? I do need these files. Reply to sender doesn't work.

Thanks.
Sandhya

Hi Sandhya!

Look at my email address and remove what needs to be removed. I obfuscate my
address to prevent automated spambots from harvesting my address.
