I am not sure if I am @ the right outlook discussion group. If not can
someone direct me to the correst one?

My old Windows XP machine is dying. It had Outlook Express 6 on it. I
thought I loaded it when I installed Office XP Pro on it when I boutght it.
I used the same Office XP Pro disc to load it on my new Window 7 machine. I
loaded Outlook 2002 onto it not Express 6.

I have a couple issues with it though:

1- I exported my contacts to a comma separated value & saved it. I would
like to import it into Outlook 2002 on my new machine. I have it on a memory
stick & it sees the stick but not the file I saved. Anyone know how I can
import this in?

2 - I used to have my contacts listed under the Folders area on the left.
It is not there. I'd like this back if possibe.

3 Any idea why Outlook 2002 loaded instead of Outlook Express 6?

ANy help on this would be highly appreciated! Thanks

Outlook is part of Office, Outlook Express is part of Win prior to Vista
Vista uses Windows Mail, Express is not compatible
Win7 has no mail application, Windows Live Mail, which you have to download
from MS is the new incarnation of Outlook Express / Windows Mail
Outlook 2002 is not fully compatible with either Vista or Win7, particularly
passwords are not remembered.

There is no need to export any Outlook Data files, you simply with *outlook
closed* copy the *.pst files (data files) to memory stick, from there copy
to Documents folder.
Configure Outlook on the new PC, then File>Open Data File, within outlook,
and browse to the saved file. Set that data file as default.
