Outlook 2002 - Cannot save or attach files

P

Peter Lawton

Whe I try and save an attchment the save attachment dialogue box opens as
usual. I click on the drop down to change file location and nothing happens.
I click again and it says along the top of the dialogue box Save Attachment
(Not Responding)

Task Manager shows all of Outlook is not responding and ending Save
attachment task Closes Outlook.

I can save to the directory that Outlooks presents first in the save as
dialogue box but this is extremely inconvenient.

Same happens when try to attach a file from another location. I can open
attachments no problem.

Help gratefully anticipated

Try deleting the outcmd.dat file (outlook must be closed)

C:\Documents and Settings\<your profile>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Open outlook and try again.
