Outlook 2002 Encryption and Signing

How can I tell, programatically, if the email I'm sending has been encrypted
and/or signed?

I have been able to monitor when mail messages are sent by getting the
olFolderSentMail folder and adding an Items.ItemAdd event handler. However,
the MailItem.MessageClass property is not changing value when a mail message
is encrypted and/or signed. Also, when a message is sent encrypted it
doesn’t cast property to a MailItem object it throws an exception.
