Outlook 2002 error(0x800CCCOF)

Have 3 e-mail accounts on Outlook 2002 and all worked well until I downloaded
Windows update in mid-December. Now 2 of the three produce above error
message with "sending and receiving reported error(0x800CCCOF) The connection
to server was interrupted. If problem continues, contact your server admin
or ISP". Also, when I shut down Outlook, I get error msg that Outlook has
encountered a problem and has to close. When I click OK, Outlook starts back
up.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Here are a bunch of suggestions for you but first note that the full text of
the error message would help. That includes the server name, server type,
port number, socket error code, SSL, etc.

Check your settings against this guide and hopefully it will help you
overcome your problem: http://tinyurl.com/v9kh

Error 0x800ccc0d or 0x800ccc0f When Receiving and Sending E-Mail (talks
about Norton AntiVirus but applies to McAfee and others, too):

It is possible for a single message on the mail server to clog the download
process. And the fix is to delete that message on the mail server, typically
using the ISP's email web interface. Usually when this is the case, the
download will start and then always get stuck on the same message (e.g.
program says that there are 20 messages to download and it gets to number 6
and then stops).
